China’s People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLA Air Force) has sent J-10B and J-16 fighter aircrafts to Russia in support of the Aviadarts military aviation contest.
Chinese media reported on Aug. 14 that PLA’s military aircraft (including fighter jets and transport planes) will be making their debuts at the Aviadarts competition, part of the International Army Games 2021.
According to sources from the PLA Air force, 11 military aircraft were sent by the PLA Air Force, including H-6K bombers and J-10B fighter planes, J-16 fighter fighter jets, and J-10B fighter fighter jets. A team of airborne troops was also sent to Russia to take part in the International Army Games 2021. This event was initiated by Russia’s Defense Ministry. It is scheduled for August 22 through September 4, according to Xinhua News Agency.
All participating aircraft were domestically built.
The H-6K bombers and J-10B fighter jets as well as the J-16 fighter aircrafts will likely take part in the Aviadarts contest that will be held in Ryazan Region. The Y-20 transport planes and Y-9 will likely carry a team with airborne troops to the Airborne Platoon contest at Chelyabinsk, observers stated.
Aviadarts, an air show in which air force helicopter and helicopter crews compete for timed tasks, is called Aviadarts.
According to Xinhua, the J-10B fighter planes, J-16 fighter jets, and the Y-20 large-transport aircraft will all make their debuts at the event. The H-6K bombers, and the Y-9 tactical transportation aircraft, have been participating in the competition since 2018.
